Canker sores are usually found on the movable parts of the mouth such as the tongue or the inside lining of the lips and cheeks. anker sores are actual ulcerations of the skin lining the inside of the mouth. The cause is not well know it may be a result of a localized autoimmune disorder. Although they are painful, they are not harmful. They usually heal within 2 weeks, but they often come back.
